Sewing & Upholstery Team Lead

Team Lead Job Summary:

A Grand Rapids furniture manufacturing company is seeking to add a hands-on Sewing and Upholstery Team Lead to their growing team. This position is incredibly hands on and the person in this role will be expected to support all areas of production when asked by the Production Manager.

Team Lead Requirements:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on analytical problem-solving abilities
• A dedicated team player with a keen eye for detail, ensuring thoroughness in all tasks
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, adept at providing constructive feedback and support to team members
• Proficient in developing patterns for both new and existing products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Pay: $50,000-$70,000

Team Lead Qualifications:

• Proficient or trainable in modifying patterns and cutting fabric efficiently to meet product specifications using Gerber and/or Lectra fabric cutters
• Proficient or trainable in diverse sewing techniques and upholstery methods to ensure high-quality, durable products
• Skilled in supervising and training production teams to achieve targets while maintaining quality standards
• Implements quality control measures to minimize defects and enhance production efficiency
• Ensures adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards to maintain a secure work environment
• Facilitates effective communication across departments to optimize production workflows and meet customer expectations
• Previous experience working with upholstery is required

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
