Project engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our team and assist superintendents and project managers with commercial projects. In this role, you will work closely with various project teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, including municipal, industrial, and storage unit projects.
Responsibilities

Maintain and update project drawings, specifications, and documentation.

Administer the submittal process by identifying required submittals, collecting, logging, reviewing, and submitting or approving them as required.

Assist in developing project schedules and creating proposals.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors and the project team.

Develop and manage project schedules.

Monitor field progress and quality of the projects.

Assist with cost control, change orders, and project closeout procedures.

Enforce safety standards and maintain required certifications.
Essential Skills
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role with a general contractor on commercial construction projects.

Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications.

Experience with project scheduling or project management software such as Microsoft Project.

Knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials, including construction scheduling and quantity takeoffs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a bonus.

Project scheduling experience.

Ability to perform quantity takeoffs.
Work Environment
The work environment includes typical hours from 7 AM to 4:30 PM with some Saturdays required if a project is behind schedule. The position is 75% office-based and 25% fieldwork. It is a salaried position with no overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brighton, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
