Salary Range: $49,000 - $79,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) machines according to job specifications.
• Select and install appropriate electrodes, fixtures, and tooling for various machining tasks.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining requirements and parameters.
• Monitor EDM process, adjust settings, and troubleshoot common operational issues to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to blueprints.
• Conduct routine maintenance on EDM machines, including cleaning, filter replacement, and dielectric fluid management.
• Maintain accurate production records, quality logs, and report any discrepancies or machine malfunctions.

Recommended Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience operating Wire or Sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot EDM machinery, including electrode selection and workholding.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators for quality inspection.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve common machine and process issues.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in machining is preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM, optical comparators, or other advanced metrology equipment
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for reviewing part models or programming paths
• Demonstrated ability to perform minor machine maintenance or troubleshooting beyond routine cleaning
• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T
