The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Fleet Reliability Engineer for our AV Operations team to support our data collection efforts by maintaining >90% fleet uptime. In this role, you’ll be at the center of ensuring our Super Cruise 3 data collection fleet is operating at peak performance. You will collaborate daily with Vehicle Technicians, Vehicle Integration, AV Software, Embodied AI, Hardware Systems, General Motors, and Program teams to ensure critical data targets are consistently met.

You will take the lead on issue identification, triage, and root-cause analysis for challenges encountered during vehicle calibration, launch, and on-road testing. A key part of this role is knowing which issues must be escalated to engineering partners and working closely with those teams to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement across the fleet.

What You’ll Do

Maintain and elevate fleet uptime for prototype vehicle systems and components through proactive issue discovery, triage, configuration updates, code debugging, and root-cause analysis.

Partner with cross-functional technical teams to drive both short-term fixes and long-term design improvements across hardware, software, and connectivity systems - including network configurations, sensor integration, vehicle connectivity, and AV system software.

Build collaborative, productive relationships with technicians, operators, engineers, and external partners to ensure seamless fleet operations and rapid issue resolution.

Bring engineering rigor and hands-on troubleshooting to dynamic, real-world testing environments where precision and uptime are essential.

Demonstrated ability to diagnose and debug complex hardware/software interactions in highly integrated systems.

Ability to interpret schematics, datasheets, and communication architectures for vehicle and component-level systems.

Experience working with Autonomous Vehicle Control, Active Safety, Electrification, or related advanced mobility technologies.

Experience with product and workflow tools (JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Loop, etc.).

Familiarity with integration and diagnostic tools such as Vector, Intrepid, INCA, or dSPACE.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at every level.

Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and provide guidance to integration engineers when required.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive and operate test vehicles.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience designing, developing, or operating an end-to-end robotics system.

Expertise in interfaces across vehicle platforms, actuators, embedded software, and communication networks.

Strong understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN / CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet) and networking concepts.
