Staff Accountant POST NUMBER: 477006
Vaco is partnering with a well-established organization in the Canton/Litchfield area that’s looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team.
This is a great opportunity to join a highly respected company known for its strong culture, collaborative environment, and hands-on leadership team. This is an in-office role offering strong exposure across the accounting function.
The role:
This position will support day-to-day accounting operations and requires a solid understanding of core accounting functions, including the full purchase and sales cycle, accrual accounting, and how it ties into AR, AP, inventory, and cost of goods sold. It’s a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are key.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing AP/AR, general ledger activity, and bank reconciliations
- Preparing financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records
- Handling account reconciliations, including intercompany and inventory
- Maintaining fixed assets
- Supporting audit and tax processes, including year-end workpapers
- Preparing and filing sales tax, fuel tax, and other regulatory filings
- Assisting with reporting and ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related experience)
- 3–5 years of general accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Great Plains, QuickBooks, JDE, Sage)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
