Position: School Custodian

Pay: $15 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: 2nd shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Weekends as needed.

As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Duties:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify a building leader when supplies need replenishing.
• Perform floor care duties including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Adhere to established cleaning schedules and ensure all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly.

Skills:

• Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
