Position: School Custodian
Pay: $15 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: 2nd shift, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Weekends as needed.
As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Duties:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify a building leader when supplies need replenishing.
- Perform floor care duties including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to established cleaning schedules and ensure all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly.
Skills:
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must pass a background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
