5-Axis CNC Machinist (Aerospace)

Overview

We are seeking a skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team in Shelby Township, MI. As a key player in our aerospace manufacturing division, you will be responsible for producing high-precision components that meet the stringent standards of the aerospace industry. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC mills to produce complex aerospace components.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure precision in machining.
• Perform tooling changes and adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Conduct shop math calculations to ensure accurate measurements and tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically with 5-axis VMCs.
• Understanding of GD&T principles and their application in machining.
• Proficient in CNC tooling and setup, with a focus on aerospace components.
• Solid shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Experience with 3-4 axis VMCs is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
