Inspection Technician | Byron Center, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs) to verify product specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards to ensure product compliance.
• Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including identification of non-conformances.
• Identify and tag non-conforming materials or products, initiating appropriate reporting procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with quality control standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify defects or non-conformances.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and generating inspection reports.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certification (e.g., CMI, CQI)
• Experience with CMMs or other automated inspection equipment
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
