File Transfer Systems Engineer (Lansing, MI)

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a file-transfer expert to support a critical system that securely moves large amounts of data between departments and outside partners. The main job is to move everyone off an old file-transfer tool called MessageWay and onto a newer one called MOVEit.

This role is hands-on, long-term, and deeply operational.

We are looking for someone with:

-Deep, hands-on experience with MOVEit and MessageWay

-Experience supporting large, regulated environments

-Comfortable working with government or public sector stakeholders

On a normal day, this person will:

-Help departments move their file connections from MessageWay to MOVEit

-Troubleshoot failed or slow file transfers

-Write scripts to automate file movement and alerts

-Review databases that track file transfers and audit logs

-Document processes for compliance and audits

$67/hr to $70/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements

7+ years of experience customizing MOVEit and MessageWay, including a strong understanding of their strengths, limitations, configurations, customer support, troubleshooting, and associated networks. 7+ years of MOVEit and MessageWay database architecture

Design, develop, test, document, package, and delivery of scripts

PowerShell scripting

Strong interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with management and stakeholders across multiple State departments.

Ability to develop and maintain strategic plans that support organizational and project objectives.

Extensive experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices and methodologies, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to assist customers in designing file transfer solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
