Job Summary

Workbox Staffing is seeking Acme Operators that will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Acme multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical blueprints and specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Acme multi-spindle screw machines according to production specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and engineering drawings to determine machine setup and tooling requirements.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure products meet dimensional and quality specifications.
• Adjust machine settings (speed, feed, tooling, etc.) as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Replace worn or broken tools and maintain proper tool inventory.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or malfunctions during production runs.
• Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper operation.
• Document production data and quality checks accurately.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and improve processes.

Key Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating Acme or other screw machines.
• Strong understanding of machining principles and metal properties.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, thread gauges).
• Good mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and strong quality orientation.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
