Product Manager - Vehicle Health

Ford
Dearborn, MI

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Launched in 2023, Integrated Services creates and markets new customer experiences by integrating hardware, software and services across Ford Blue, Model e and Ford Pro. These products and services allow Ford's retail and commercial customers to customize their vehicles like never before with OTA (over-the-air)-driven experiences that grow better over time. Ford is developing leadership at the forefront of connected, digital platforms that will revolutionize every aspect of how vehicles function, the way people interact with them, and the value those vehicles provide.

In this position...

At Ford, every vehicle health message we analyze is more than just data—it’s a signal from a customer who depends on their vehicle. Whether it’s a technician diagnosing an issue, a fleet manager optimizing uptime, or a driver trying to avoid an unexpected repair, we are here to help. Vehicle Health product team is looking for a Vehicle Health & Insights product manager to support new and existing vehicle health insights, ensuring customers and service teams receive the most accurate, useful data possible.

We are looking for a curious and driven individual who is passionate about using data to solve problems and improve business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a multifaceted professional who blends technical expertise, analytical thinking, and business acumen to extract knowledge and insights from data. You will be responsible for analyzing vehicle health data, measuring and guiding optimization of vehicle health insights, ensuring their accuracy, reliability, and alignment with strategic business goals.

What you'll do...

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Perform complex data analysis using SQL and statistical techniques to identify patterns, anomalies, and insights that can be used to improve model performance and inform product decisions.
  • Data Quality: Ensuring that the data used by the product is accurate, reliable, and complete.
  • Requirement Definition & Prioritization: Translate business requirements and customer needs into detailed product specifications and prioritize features based on impact and feasibility.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, software developers, and operations teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Insights Performance & Validation: Hands-on involvement in ground truth validation and false positive rate analysis to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and stability of Vehicle health insights.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of models and identify areas for improvement.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and best practices in the field of vehicle health prognostics.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science or a related field.
  • 5-6 years of experience in product management, with a focus on data-driven products
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze information objectively and form a reasoned judgment
  • Strong Data Analytics Skills: Proven ability to perform complex data analysis using SQL, statistical techniques and data visualization tools. Ability to draw meaningful conclusions from data and identify actionable insights.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying up to date with the latest trends. Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve complex problems in a data-driven manner.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with building and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
  • Automotive Industry Experience: Experience with vehicle telematics data and knowledge of diagnostic protocols (e.g., OBD-II)
  • Familiarity with Cloud Computing Platforms: Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud is a plus.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above?
