As a Senior Accountant in the Real Estate sector, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic and fast-paced organization. This is a unique opportunity to join a team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional financial services to our real estate clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and a proven track record of managing financial operations within the real estate industry. This role requires an individual who is well-versed in the complexities of real estate accounting and can provide strategic financial guidance to support our business objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of real estate properties.
2. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and conduct monthly account analysis.
3. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
4. Coordinate with external auditors during audits and reviews.
5. Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
6. Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely collection of rents.
7. Manage property tax assessments and appeals, and ensure timely payment of property taxes.
8. Collaborate with property management teams to optimize financial performance.
9. Use property management software such as Yardi, MRI, and RealPage to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, and provide recommendations for improving financial performance and profitability.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate accounting, preferably with a focus on multifamily units and apartments.
3. Prior experience with Big 4 accounting firms such as Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG is a plus.
4. Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, MRI, and RealPage.
5. Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
6. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
8. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and corporate responsibility.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
