Salary Range: $53,000 - $85,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to define project scope.
• Calculate detailed material, labor, tooling, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for customer quotations.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers for raw materials, components, and outsourced services.
• Identify and assess potential risks or challenges that could impact project costs or timelines.
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software with current pricing and production data.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost drivers, including material, labor, and overhead.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Solid knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly).

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for cost analysis and data extraction.
• Experience with CAD software for viewing and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Specific experience in a relevant manufacturing process (e.g., CNC machining, fabrication, assembly).
