Salary Range: $56,000 - $83,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive First Article Inspections (FAI) on newly manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Utilize precision measuring equipment such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Generate detailed First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102 or customer-specific requirements.
• Document all inspection results accurately, including identification and reporting of non-conforming materials or processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to investigate and resolve dimensional discrepancies or quality issues.
• Verify manufacturing processes and tooling are capable of producing parts to specified requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMM).
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Demonstrated understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with industry-standard FAI documentation requirements (e.g., AS9102, PPAP).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CMM programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Experience with 3D scanning or other advanced optical metrology systems.
• AS9100/ISO 9001 internal auditor training.
