Secret Cleared Agile Product Owner

Job Description

The product owner will be responsible a high priority project within the defense industry. This person will support 15-20 embedded software applications, adjudicating scope, refining sprint plans, tracking engineering metrics, managing issue resolution, and maintaining a clean, accurate backlog. They will orchestrate workflow efficiently for engineering teams while ensuring documentation accurately reflects work performed. Although not a hands-on developer, the Senior Product Owner must possess a strong understanding of embedded software development within an engineering environment and apply deep Agile execution experience to drive delivery. Daily responsibilities include progress tracking, daily management reporting, and creating uniform processes while offloading administrative burdens from technical staff so they can focus on development. The role requires someone who can step in immediately with no ramp-up time, maintain a calm and professional demeanor under high project demands, and effectively relay updates and feedback. An active, fully adjudicated Secret clearance is required

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education but will vary from $90-130/hr. Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

Active Secret Clearance

Willing to be on site in Grand Rapids full time

Agile Product Owner within embedded engineering teams

10+ years of experience working in the fields of embedded engineering or agile technical teams

Strong agile project execution experience

Level headed within a fast pace environment

Experience working with GitLab Certified Scrum Master/Product Owner
