We are looking for an analytical, fast-paced Pre-Service Order Entry Specialist to join our clinic operations team on-site in East Lansing, MI! In this essential position, you will be the bridge between incoming physician directives and seamless patient care by accurately managing diagnostic imaging records.

Operating on a consistent daytime schedule, you will combine your clerical accuracy with a strong team-oriented mindset to transcribe data, evaluate insurance credentials, and coordinate with cross-functional healthcare departments. Responsibilities

Position Summary: Accurately transcribe incoming diagnostic imaging fax orders and coordinate essential data intake. This role balances medical record transcription with detailed database entry to ensure administrative alignment for clinical scheduling and billing pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transcribe inbound medical fax orders received from physician offices with high data accuracy.

• Execute system order entry for diverse ancillary examinations including MRIs, PET scans, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging.

• Assign and input correct ICD-10 diagnostic codes for scheduling and hospital billing purposes.

• Perform meticulous medical necessity checks and verify insurance eligibility guidelines upon intake.

• Collect, evaluate, and verify necessary insurance authorizations across multiple system screens.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• 1+ years of clerical or secretarial experience in a medical setting, OR 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant handling order entry and insurance workflows.

• 1+ years of dedicated data entry and customer service experience.

• strong computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM or a data entry speed of 7000 KPH.
