Salary Range: $67,000 - $106,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize new and existing production tooling, fixtures, and molds.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling-related production issues.
• Manage the maintenance, repair, and modification of all manufacturing tooling.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and production requirements.
• Specify, evaluate, and procure new tooling and equipment from external vendors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive tooling documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and maintenance logs.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tooling performance, lifespan, and cost-efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in tooling design, development, or maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tool design and analysis
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, machining, or casting
• Demonstrated knowledge of GD&T, material properties, and heat treatment for tool steels
• Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies for tooling issues

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software for tool validation.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with Mold Flow Analysis software for injection molding tooling.
• Knowledge of automation or robotics integration in manufacturing processes.
