Transit Fleet Collision Repair Specialist
Day in the Life
You start your 1st Shift by walking the yard with the Maintenance Supervisor, prioritizing a mix of collision fixes and cosmetic restorations across our fleet. Your day moves from removing a damaged body panel to setting new glass, from aligning an exterior mirror to reshaping fiberglass and applying body filler. When needed, you jump in alongside mechanics to keep vehicles road-ready.
What You’ll Work On
- Body panel removal, repair, and replacement
- Glass removal and installation
- Exterior mirror removal, repair, and replacement
- Fiberglass work and bondo/body-filler repairs
- Decal installation and removal (interior and exterior)
- Seat insert/cushion install, repair, and replacement for driver and passenger seats
- Bike rack and mounting bracket removal, repair, and replacement
- Assist mechanics as required
Tools You Bring
You are expected to supply your own complete tool set suitable for this role: a full set of mechanic’s tools (no special tools required), including wrenches and sockets up to 1¼ inch and metric tools up to 20 mm.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license and a clean five (5) year driving record submitted with application
- Michigan Chauffeur-based “BP” Temporary Instruction CDL Permit (T.I.P.) secured prior to hire
- Michigan Group B Commercial Driver License with Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements obtained within 90 days of hire
- Verifiable experience in body repair (light or heavy)
- Fork Lift Driving Certificate at hire or within 90 days
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent/constant standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and twisting
- Hands-on tool use with grasping, pushing, pulling, and sustained arm control
- Precise finger movements for small components and controls
