Location: Lowell, MI / Full-Time / Experienced

Litehouse is seeking a Controls Engineer or Sr. Controls Engineer to design, develop, and maintain advanced control systems and instrumentation that automate and optimize industrial processes. In this role, you'll enhance existing systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead control system projects. You'll also collaborate cross-functionally, ensuring automation solutions are reliable, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

What You'll Do

• Design and update technical diagrams, schematics, SCADA block diagrams, and control logic.

• Lead automation projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timelines and specifications are met.

• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and advanced automation equipment.

• Optimize control algorithms and system performance for reliability, safety, and efficiency.

• Upgrade and adapt existing systems to meet evolving business and production requirements.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to controls and instrumentation.

• Perform system testing, validation, and preventive maintenance.

• Analyze data to identify performance or quality gaps and recommend improvements.

• Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, and change records.

• Provide training and technical support to ensure knowledge transfer across teams.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 4-5 years' experience in control system design, installation, and maintenance.

• Strong background in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming and configuration.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical (or similar) and industrial networking protocols.

• In-depth understanding of control theory, electrical systems, and automation technologies.

• Skilled in ladder logic, structured text, and HMI development.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Ability to lead complex projects independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

• Preferred: Certified Automation Professional (ISA) and/or project management experience.
