Salary Range: $56,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Calculate material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs for manufacturing projects.
• Solicit and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, proposals, and bids for new and existing products or projects.
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure accurate and feasible estimates.
• Maintain and update cost databases and pricing structures to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, labor rates, and overhead calculation.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and specialized estimating software.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills for accurate cost analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor) for cost data extraction and analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel modeling/VBA).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification/experience.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for interpreting technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
