Supervisor

Printing Pressman

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America's leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking to add a Print Supervisor to our team in Southgate, MI! This role will be responsible for supervising teams, optimizing equipment performance, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and driving operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Direct and oversee all shift activities
• Prioritize and allocate any resources to ensure key metrics are met on a daily basis in safety, quality, and productivity.
• Monitor production schedules, ensure accurate inventory processes, and ensure processes effectively maintain quality specifications.
• Supervise and coach the production team members; designating work assignments, providing instruction and training, and ensure communications and teamwork throughout the shift.
• Ensure full compliance with safety and quality rules, as well as other customer and industry standards.
• Responsible for accuracy of product inventory by verifying all shift reports.
• Supervise staff to include but not limited to: designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and providing input for performance appraisals.
• Responsible for maintaining housekeeping requirements though effective labor utilization.
• Responsible for enforcing rules and follow corrective action protocol.
• Communicate all press related downtime through department escalation protocol.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be 18 years of age
• One year or more of high-volume manufacturing experience with printing experience preferred

About Us:

AJM was originally founded as a distributor of commercial paper, plastic and foil packaging products and related cleaning, janitorial and order processing supplies and equipment by three (3) Detroit area brothers operating out of a small warehouse in Detroit's Eastern Market. In 1957 they built and moved into slightly larger quarters on Detroit's southwest side, where, for the very first time, they began manufacturing their own products.
