St. Paul Lutheran School is seeking a passionate and faith-centered Middle School English Language Arts Teacher for grades 6–8. We are looking for an educator who is committed to academic excellence, Christian values, and fostering a love of reading, writing, and communication in middle school students.

The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment where students grow academically, socially, and spiritually while developing strong literacy and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned with curriculum standards and Lutheran educational values
• Teach literature, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, writing, and communication skills
• Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and respectful classroom discussion
• Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and student needs
• Integrate faith-based principles and character development into daily instruction
• Maintain a positive, structured, and Christ-centered classroom environment
• Assess student progress and communicate regularly with students and parents
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and school families
• Participate in school events, chapel services, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or related field
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate (or ability to obtain certification)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for working with middle school students
• Commitment to Christian education and the mission of Lutheran schooling
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous middle school teaching experience
• Experience in Lutheran or Christian education
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and educational technology
