Database Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

As the Database Engineer Intern, you'll support the development and maintenance of database solutions that ensure reliable, high-quality data across systems. This role provides hands-on experience working with SQL Server, data integration, and database best practices while learning from experienced engineers.

About the role

• Assist with database design, data modeling, and query optimization

• Help write and maintain SQL queries, views, and stored procedures

• Support data integration and data quality efforts across systems

• Assist with maintaining and enhancing database applications

• Participate in code reviews and documentation efforts

• Learn and follow database security and best practices

• Assist with automation and process improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with engineers and team members in an Agile/DevOps environment

About you

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL through coursework or projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server

• Familiarity with SQL queries, views, or stored procedures

• Basic understanding of data modeling or ETL concepts

• Experience with Git/GitHub through coursework or projects

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
