Industrial Reliability Technician (Multicraft)
What a day looks like
Before the first shift whistles, you’re walking the floor, eyes and ears tuned in. A faint rattle on a gearbox? You catch it. A robot’s cycle time creeping up? You’re already checking the controller. You keep our machinery, facilities, and support systems running at peak performance by installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment—and by preventing problems before they start.
Your impact
- Conduct routine visual inspections and operational tests on production machinery and support equipment.
- Diagnose issues by listening for abnormal sounds, consulting with operators/supervisors, and tracing faults across systems.
- Disassemble malfunctioning assemblies and install repaired or replacement components to return assets to service.
- Clean and lubricate bearings, gears, shafts, and related moving parts to extend life and improve reliability.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus (e.g., transformers, wiring) and electro-mechanical/electronic components on equipment.
- Replace light fixtures and lamps as needed to maintain safe, well‑lit work areas.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems and associated hydraulic/pneumatic equipment; repair/replace gauges, valves, and regulators.
- Maintain and repair the plant’s physical structure as required.
- Install, commission, and service automated machinery, including robots and programmable controllers.
- Operate machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill press, milling machine) to fabricate/repair parts, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems using measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers) and precision techniques.
- Use multimeters, Meggers, and other electrical test instruments to isolate faults and verify repairs.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/prints to plan, execute, and document work.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machines on time and to standard.
- Close maintenance work orders promptly with accurate notes and parts usage.
- Apply LEAP/5S and HSE standards in all tasks to sustain a clean, orderly, and safe workplace.
