Job Title: Regional Sales Engineer
Basic Function: Develop new sales opportunities within the assigned region to achieve company sales growth and profitability goals. Act as a liaison between plant staff and customers and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure continued sales growth.
Essential Functions:
- Meet or exceed sales goals.
- Generate new sales opportunities and obtain requests for quotations (RFQs). Forward RFQs to the Cost Estimator and clarify any issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in the assigned region.
- Develop relationships with key personnel at accounts, including executive leadership, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing teams.
- Follow up on quotations to secure opportunities and coordinate negotiations with internal team members.
- Act as a liaison during product launches to resolve technical or logistical issues between customers and plant teams.
- Utilize various sales and marketing channels, including internet, cold calls, and referrals.
- Spend at least 60% of the time meeting with qualified prospects and customers.
- Document all prospect and customer activities in the company CRM and provide timely updates to leadership.
- Monitor the customer base and market for changes, and recommend sales trends and investment opportunities to management.
- Assess competition periodically and document findings in CRM.
- Resolve customer payment issues in coordination with the accounting team.
- Communicate price adjustments to customers.
- Prepare detailed sales forecasts monthly.
- Use ERP system data to analyze customer sales trends and budget deviations.
- Network at tradeshows, industry events, and trade associations.
- Maintain high industry knowledge and stay updated on trends and issues.

- Comfortable prospecting, qualifying, presenting, and closing opportunities in a competitive market.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of technical sales experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to create new business opportunities and achieve aggressive sales growth.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (Salesforce experience is a plus).
- Experience using social media as a sales and marketing tool.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit customer locations.
