Outside Sales Manager- Metal Industry

We're looking for an Outside Sales Manager who thrives on connecting with right-fit customers in need of a trusted partner for vacuum heat-treating and brazing services. This role includes travel, and we provide a company car, credit card, and phone to support your success. What you'll do As an Outside Sales Manager at Solar Atmospheres of Michigan, you will be establishing new relationships with prospects who will benefit from a partnership with us. Unlike some sales positions, our leads and opportunities are endless. Most of our business supports the aerospace, medical and the power generation industries. In addition, there are many direct and indirect companies that we connect with that produce components which need to be heat-treated for durability and mechanical purposes. This is when we step in! The area you cover and companies you meet with will vary daily but day to day you can expect to do the following: Visit multiple prospects and customers a day to build relationships and pitch our services Call and follow up with our high volume of prospects and inbound leads Plan weekly travel schedules and coordinate flights/hotels needed Utilize HubSpot to maintain accurate records of prospecting/customer activities Provide daily reports to the Director of Sales on activities Network and participate at trade shows/conferences throughout the territory What you need to thrive in this role Heat treating and/ or Metal Service Center sales background with connections to and relationships with machine and metal fabrication shops throughout MI, WI, and IN Comfortable with some overnight travel Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems required General knowledge of materials preferred Results-oriented, motivated, and the ability to work independently Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and complete tasks with little supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record, required.
