Assembler

Join a dynamic team in a full-time, long-term position where you will be involved in manufacturing carpeted products for the automotive industry. You will play a key role in loading and unloading materials and assemblies into presses, performing inspections, and producing formed and trimmed products. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Load and unload materials and assemblies into the presses.
• Perform inspections on products to ensure quality.
• Produce formed and trimmed products.
• Handle carpet assemblies weighing 10-15 pounds, consisting of a sound mat layer, rubber adhesive layer, and top carpet/cloth.
• Stand at a press with a material cart to load and unload the press.
• Inspect and trim parts as necessary.

• Experience in manufacturing, inspection, loading, trimming, unloading, and assembly.
• Stable work history with at least 1-2 years at previous jobs.
• Reliable attendance with no tardiness or call-ins.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Candidates should be ready to undergo training for various roles.
• Good attendance and work quality may lead to promotions in tooling, quality, and maintenance teams.

The company offers a stable working environment and has received a large, long-term contract, generating over 300 jobs in Port Huron. The work takes place in a high-production shop with 8-10 stamping cells and at least 4 presses per cell, across three facilities of similar size. Each shift includes about 70 production employees. The environment can be loud, and employees are expected to stand for long periods. Training is provided on the first day with a line leader and top production employee, and candidates can expect to learn 2-3 jobs within the first week. The company is undergoing re-branding and expanding its production capabilities, including the manufacture of plastics.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kimball, MI.

The pay range for this position is $36400.00 - $37024.00/yr.
