Travel Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: South Bend, IN 46601 (Indiana healthcare jobs)
• Unit: 10 South Medical Oncology (Oncology & Telemetry focus)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (8/18/2025 – 11/17/2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890–$1940
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
• Floating: Required within hospital and to affiliates as needed
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Colors: Royal Blue top with White or Royal Blue bottoms

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Indiana or compact state; must be valid prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg or Telemetry RN experience (Oncology nursing experience preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (pending accepted, must be valid before start)
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Must pass medication and EKG competency tests
• Ability to float to other hospital units or affiliate healthcare facilities as needed
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
• Willingness to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start onboarding modules

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and telemetry patients, including those with complex drips and cardiac rhythms
• Interpret and manage telemetry monitoring, identify and respond to dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, blood products, and provide central/PICC line care
• Perform wound care, surgical drain management, and phlebotomy procedures
• Support patients through substance withdrawal and end-of-life care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
• Follow infection control and isolation protocols
• Participate in self-scheduling, work every other weekend, and required holidays
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals based on staffing needs
