A&P Mechanic

Description:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance while troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting transport category aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company procedures. Support safe and efficient cargo flight operations by completing maintenance activities, documenting work performed, and coordinating with maintenance personnel to return aircraft to service. Maintain compliance with company quality standards and established safety practices throughout all maintenance operations.

#Education & Job Requirements

*Valid A&P License
*High School Diploma or GED equivalent
*3+ years of experience performing heavy aircraft maintenance on commercial aircraft platforms
*Experience maintaining transport category aircraft
*Working knowledge of FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, and 121
*Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
*Basic computer proficiency using maintenance tracking systems
*Valid driver's license
*Ability to obtain airport security clearance and successfully complete required background checks and drug screening
*Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals
*Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

#Preferred Skills

*Experience maintaining Boeing 747, Boeing 767, or Boeing 777 aircraft or other commercial aircraft
*Previous cargo airline maintenance experience
*Experience performing heavy maintenance, line maintenance, or overnight maintenance operations
*Engine run and taxi qualifications
*Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience
*Military aviation maintenance background

#Job Duties & Functions

*Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance on aircraft
*Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, flight control, and landing gear systems
*Inspect, remove, install, repair, and replace aircraft components
*Complete routine servicing including engine oil servicing, tire changes, brake replacement, and fluid replenishment
*Conduct maintenance inspections in accordance with FAA regulations and company maintenance programs
*Interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins
*Document all maintenance performed using approved maintenance documentation systems
*Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
*Coordinate with maintenance control, supervisors, inspectors, and technicians to safely return aircraft to service
*Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area
*Support aircraft recovery and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations as required
*Work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and travel assignments based on operational needs

#Physical Requirements & Environment

*Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
*Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work from maintenance stands for extended periods
*Work in confined spaces and at heights
*Perform duties in varying weather conditions, hangars, and ramp environments
*Distinguish colors for aircraft wiring and component identification
*Work in hangar and flight line environments
*Experience exposure to aircraft noise, fuels, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and cleaning chemicals
*Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
*Maintain flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational requirements
