Owner / Executive Chef
About the Concept
We are an upcoming modern eatery preparing for our initial opening. Our vision is a contemporary, ingredient-driven restaurant that balances creativity, approachability, and exceptional flavor. We are seeking an Executive Chef to play a key role in shaping the culinary identity of the restaurant from the ground up.
Position Overview
This is a foundational leadership role for a talented Executive Chef with an exceptional palate and a proven ability to develop compelling menus. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with ownership during the pre-opening phase to design the menu, define kitchen systems, and establish standards that will guide the restaurant long-term.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead menu concept development, recipe creation, and tastings prior to opening
- Build a cohesive, modern menu that reflects seasonality, balance, and strong flavor profiles
- Source ingredients and develop relationships with local and premium vendors
- Design kitchen workflows, prep systems, and plating standards
- Hire, train, and lead the opening kitchen team
- Establish food costing, portion controls, and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of senior culinary leadership experience (Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated success in menu development and restaurant openings
- Refined palate with strong understanding of flavor balance and modern techniques
- Ability to translate creative ideas into executable, cost-effective dishes
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Passion for mentoring talent and building kitchen culture
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
