A retail pharmacist position is available at a busy outpatient pharmacy located on a major hospital campus in Kalamazoo, MI. This contract role involves managing a high-volume prescription workload of approximately 600 to 700 scripts daily, providing an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced retail environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Verify and accurately fill prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions to promote optimal health outcomes
- Maintain proper documentation and handling of controlled substances
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Michigan
- Michigan Controlled Substance License
- Minimum of 1 year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
