You'll Have…

• REST API Development & Consumption: 5+ years of experience developing and consuming RESTful web services using Spring or Java EE.
• Distributed Systems & Cloud: 5+ years of experience with REST API methods and web service implementation in distributed architectures (CloudRun, Kubernetes/OpenShift, etc.).
• API Technologies: Expertise in API-related technologies like JSON, XML, REST, Swagger, and Postman.
• Agile & DevOps: Experience with Agile methodologies (Jira, Rally, etc.) and modern software engineering tools (GitHub, Jenkins).
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages like Java, GoLang, C++, etc.
• CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD techniques and tools.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Even Better, You'll Have…

• Cloud Experience: Cloud development experience, particularly with GCP.
• API Gateway Experience: API Gateway operational and troubleshooting skills.
• SRE: Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, tools, and techniques.
• Infrastructure engineering/architecture experience, especially Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Go Language: Experience with the Go programming language.
• Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

In this position...

What you'll do…

• Lead engineering effort to deploy new features, bug fixes, and maintenance all while keeping the API gateway always on.
• Design, build, evolve, and automate production operations of the API Gateways using the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) discipline.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with a global team in a follow-the-sun model. (currently, primary is 1 week every 10 weeks)
• Work across organizational boundaries to drive the API Gateway Strategy.
• Develops application software using the cloud-based architecture across the full stack of technologies
• Uses the test-driven development methodology to realize the technical solution.
