This is a full time shift 1st shift position. Weekend availability is required. Pay is $20.00 - 24.00 based on experience.

SUMMARY
A wallpaper technician is to provide an upkeep on all hotel aesthetics campus wide. As a wallpaper hanger, this technician will need the knowledge of working with artisan, decorative fabric, vinyl, and special designed covers walls to provide repairs and replacements. With having a wide range from extremely pliable, delicate pieces of hand painted silks, rigid pieces of plastic, or wood wall covers it becomes extremely detailed work. Technician will provide support in drywall repairs, painting, caulking, tiles, wood staining, and formulate plans to accomplish tasks or service calls. The ideal candidate is someone who loves working with their hands, handling various materials and fabrics, and is extremely detail oriented.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Wallpaper removal and replacement
- Painting
- Drywall repair
- Caulking
- Tile and grout repair
- Ceiling tile replacement
- Wood staining, finishing, touch up
- Ability to learn new tasks and work independently
- Ability to learn all hotel standards, policies and procedures
- Carry out specific oral and written instructions
- Tub/shower repairs
- Usage of lifts
- Ladder and Fall Protection
- Keep inventory of supplies, paint, wallpaper
- Clean, protect, secure and maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel
- Ability to maintain a daily log of activities to communicate to other shifts
- Ability to clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management
- Ability to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping all work areas clean and organized
- Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner
- Maintain a professional image at all times
- Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures
- Perform duties assigned by Engineering Management
- Report to work on time in a full Engineering uniform
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Valid drivers license is preferred
- previous experience in hotel maintenance is preferred
- Wallpaper, painting, drywall
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work well with all members of the Engineering Department and all other members of the Hotel Staff
- Ability to utilize technology including a smartphone and a computer• Smooth strips or sections of paper with brushes or rollers to remove wrinkles and bubbles
- Inspect completed work for proper alignment, pattern matching, and neatness
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
- 3+ years minimum previous experience with wall paper, drywall, and painting
- Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred
