About Us

Schnitz is a local artisan bakery dedicated to crafting high-quality, hand-made breads and buns. We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Baker to join our team and help us continue delivering delicious, artisanal baked goods. The position is 30-40 hours per week with bench and bake needs starting at 8:00am until 8:00pm. The ideal candidate has experience in production baking, strong kitchen math skills, and is motivated and self starting. We have a friendly, fast paced, team and are looking for someone that will fit in.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Production: Prepare, Bench, and bake a variety of baked goods, including breads and buns.

Preparation: Mix, shape, and bake doughs and batters according to recipes and standards.

Quality Control: Ensure all products meet quality and consistency standards.

Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, and proofers.

Inventory Management: Monitor ingredients and supplies, assist with inventory checks, and report shortages.

Collaboration: Work with the team to meet production goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in artisan bread baking or a related field is preferred.

Strong knowledge of bread-making techniques, including fermentation, proofing, and scoring.

Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical stamina to stand for a full shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.

Passion for baking and a desire to grow within the artisan bread industry.
