Human Resources Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Specialist to manage and administer our organization’s workers’ compensation program. This short-term role involves collaborating with HR, managers, insurance carriers, and healthcare providers to handle claims, ensure compliance with regulations, and support injured employees throughout their recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for all workers’ compensation claims.
- File and track claims with insurance carriers, ensuring timely reporting.
- Coordinate medical treatment and return-to-work plans with employees, providers, and managers.
- Maintain accurate records of claims, medical reports, and correspondence.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding issues.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, state workers’ compensation laws, and company policies.
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Legal departments to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on workers’ compensation procedures.
- Prepare reports and metrics related to claims, costs, and trends.
- Assist with audits and regulatory reporting as needed.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Prior experience in workers’ compensation and leave administration.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and state workers’ compensation regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
