Pay Rate: $25/hour
Assignment Type: Temporary / Project-Driven (Project runs October through January; immediate start)

Overview:
Kelly Services is seeking experienced Production Shift Supervisors from the chemical, plastics, or manufacturing industries to supervise and coordinate production floor activities during assigned shifts. Supervisors will ensure employee safety, adherence to company policies, and support productivity and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires leadership, hands-on involvement, and the ability to support shift operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities:Provide on-the-job leadership and task supervision for assigned employees.
Assist the Shift Manager in executing production schedules.
Direct daily workflow and assign tasks to employees.
Enforce all safety rules and quality procedures.
Operate equipment such as mixers, extruders, reactors, or forklifts as required.
Fill in to provide employees their scheduled breaks.
Monitor team morale and bring any issues to plant management.
Develop and assist in training personnel.
Enter or oversee data entry into ERP systems for production processes.
Support shift and departmental goals.
Provide input on performance evaluations, training needs, and competency development.
Deliver coaching and performance documentation when appropriate.
Maintain daily departmental reports and housekeeping standards.
Lead team projects including safety, 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maximize overall effectiveness of the work group.

Basic Requirements:High School Diploma or GED.
Basic computer skills.
Knowledge of safety and quality systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Flexibility to work any shift (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a).
May work 5, 6, or 7 days/week.

Experience Requirements:External Candidates: 3+ years’ team lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
3+ years’ experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
Internal Candidates: 3+ years’ experience with mixing and extrusion manufacturing processes.
Track record of no safety incidents.
Meets performance and attendance expectations.

Positions Available: 2 Assistant SupervisorsExtrusion Supervisor – most likely 1st shift
Mixing Supervisor – most likely 3rd shift
