Engineering Analyst

job summary:
Large utility company is looking for an Engineering Analyst in Saginaw, MI. This role requires a degree and at least 3 years of experience (or a high school diploma with 10 years) to support natural gas construction by utilizing GIS/GPS hardware and utility locating skills to document as-installed asset data in the field while maintaining OSHA and MIOSHA safety compliance. responsibilities:

• Support construction teams in the field during gas distribution replacement projects.

• Utilize GPS antenna hardware and GIS applications to collect and document as-installed asset information.

• Perform positional verifications and record in-field changes to ensure projects match engineering plans.

• Develop and maintain documentation processes for hardware, protocols, and revision control.

• Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Operations, construction crews, and the Contractor Oversight Liaison.

• Participate in pre-construction meetings, technology demonstrations, and operating reviews.

Skills:

• Technical understanding of construction, design, and record development of natural gas distribution systems and principles, including construction print reading, understanding of construction and safety practices, and regulatory requirements.

• Ability to coordinate project(s) needs and priorities simultaneously.

• Communication and Presentation Skills

• Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna hardware and software usage

• Understanding of Surveying Control practices

• Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software understanding.

• ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and Field Maps

• Familiarity with Natural Gas Distribution systems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of there (3) years of related applicable work experience or

• Associate degree with a minimum of six (6) years of related applicable work experience or

• High School Diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years of applicable work experience.

• Utility Locator Experience.
