Dietary Aide/Server
Burcham Hills is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the backyard of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We currently have vacancies for Dietary Aide/Servers to work a Full or Part Time schedule during Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner shifts. In this position a Dietary Aide/Servers will be responsible for table service and ensuring residents receive meals as ordered in a timely and friendly manner, maintain cleanliness, safety standards and in addition to but not limited to the following duties:
- Greet and welcome residents and guests upon arrival to the dining room.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and meet quality standards for our residents and their guests.
- Verify residents’ dietary needs.
- Take resident meal orders, assist with meal selection and answer questions about menu items as needed.
- Provide requested beverage, food, supplements and adaptive equipment to residents following dietary needs.
- Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service.
- Ensure residents are satisfied with meal served.
- Deliver and pick up room trays as needed.
- Evening hours may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications: Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train. You must be able to work independently as well as a part of a highly productive team. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English effectively to interpret and explain the menu, refer or answer questions, understand resident requests and resident dietary needs, as well as follow rules and safety requirements. Ability to operate large equipment with oral and/or written instructions in English, such as but not limited too; dish washing machine, refrigerators, freezers, steam well, etc.
