Atzinger Gardens is hiring a Landscape Design/Build Foreman to lead high-end residential landscape installation projects in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area.

This is a hands-on landscape construction leadership role for someone who takes pride in building beautiful outdoor spaces and leading a crew with professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail. Our designs focus on horticultural detail, perennial planting schemes, and natural stone. This is not a desk job. You will work alongside the crew while managing production, quality, client communication, and jobsite success.

This role is a great fit for experienced landscape foremen, landscape crew leaders, landscape installation foremen, hardscape foremen, and design/build field leaders looking to grow with a respected, family-owned company.

Pay

$26.00 to $32.00 per hour , depending on experience

Schedule

• Four 10-hour days per week
• Approximately 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Occasional weekend work as needed based on project demands
• Seasonal workload with flexible winter hours

What You’ll Do

• Lead and work alongside a landscape installation crew on high-end residential projects
• Read and execute landscape design plans with accuracy and attention to detail
• Manage daily jobsite production, crew workflow, and project priorities
• Oversee all phases of landscape installation, including layout, demolition, grading, planting, soil preparation, drainage, hardscape construction, and final detail work
• Coordinate subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries
• Anticipate and solve jobsite issues involving access, staging, utilities, permits, and changing field conditions
• Serve as the main on-site point of contact for clients during assigned projects
• Communicate project progress, labor needs, and field issues with the Owner and leadership team
• Keep organized job notes, material usage records, and other project documentation
• Train, coach, and motivate crew members while maintaining strong standards for safety, quality, and accountability
• Contribute ideas that improve installation efficiency, workflow, and the client experience
• Support off-season planning and preparation for the following season

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in landscape construction, landscape installation, design/build, or hardscape projects
• Experience leading a crew in the field
• Strong knowledge of planting, grading, stone, drainage, and hardscape installation
• Ability to read and execute landscape plans
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work and lift up to 50 lbs
• Experience with permits, utility locates, or pesticide application is a plus
• Strong eye for craftsmanship, jobsite presentation, and finished quality
