Service Writer

Carleton Equipment, Michigan’s premier heavy equipment dealership with 87 years of industry leadership , is growing – and we’re looking for a Service Writer to join our team.
This full-time role offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment where you'll play a key part in keeping our service department efficient and customer-focused. Whether you’re experienced in service operations or a strong communicator with technical curiosity, we provide training and support to help you succeed.
🔧 What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with the Branch Service Manager and Director of Service
- Create and manage service work orders for technicians
- Answer and transfer incoming/outgoing service calls
- Audit technician time cards and job clocks daily
- Schedule and track technician training
- Handle health & safety compliance
- Support the Parts Department (phone & over-the-counter sales)
- Generate reports for service and performance
💰 Compensation:
- Starting Salary Range: $40,000 - 60,000 (depending on experience)
- Performance Bonuses : Available when goals are met

✅ Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience in a service or admin role is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
📅 Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8-hour shifts
