Job Summary:
The Speech Language Therapist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and providing treatment for patients with speech, language, communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders (willing and able to work with both adults and pediatrics). The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, utilize evidence-based practices, and work collaboratively with families and other healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes. The SLP will provide targeted speech and language therapy to a diverse population of clients, ranging from children to adults (ages 2 through 100+). The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work and are able to create a schedule that fits their personal and professional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine the needs of patients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
- Provide therapy for various speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, language processing, and cognitive-communication challenges.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes and ensure continuity of care.
- Document client progress through detailed records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Educate families/clients about speech and language development, strategies for supporting their communication, and resources available.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay informed about current trends and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Monitor and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about speech and language disorders, treatment options, and strategies for enhancing communication skills at home.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- A certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred, however Clinical Fellow (CF) opportunities are also welcome and available (CF supervisors are provided).
- Prior experience working with a wide range of ages, particularly with pediatric and adult populations, is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with clients of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
