Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the uping school semester in Mab, MI, serving middle school students in grades 4 through 7. This contract role begins at the start of the school year on August 25th and will cover a full semester. Candidates must hold a valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification.

The selected teacher will work with a caseload of 12 students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and various behavioral challenges. The classroom environment is a Moderate Cognitive Impairment (CI) setting, requiring specialized instructional strategies and behavior management techniques. This role requires a passionate, patient, and adaptable educator who can create individualized education plans (IEPs) aimed at promoting student growth and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction in a Moderate CI classroom setting for students with ASD and behavioral issues
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for each student on the caseload
• Collaborate with support staff, parents, and administration to support student progress
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a positive learning environment
• Track and report student performance and maintain necessary documentation

Qualifications:

• Current Michigan Special Education teaching certification required
• Experience working with students with ASD and behavioral challenges preferred
• Ability to manage a classroom of 12 students with diverse needs
• Strong munication and collaboration skills
