Crane Operator (NCCCO Certififed)

Compensation : $34.00 - $40.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials such as steel beams, concrete panels, and equipment throughout construction sites.
• Perform pre-operation inspections of crane machinery to ensure proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other heavy equipment operators to accurately implement lifting plans.
• Maintain effective communication with ground personnel using hand signals or radios to ensure seamless operations.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including load limits, signaling procedures, and hazard assessments, to avert accidents.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on cranes and promptly report any mechanical issues.
• Assist in establishing crane work zones, including stabilizing equipment and securing loads as necessary.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience on construction sites with a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation.
• Mechanical knowledge of crane systems, hydraulics, and safety features.
• Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with the necessary endorsements for operating heavy machinery.
• Experience in operating various construction vehicles such as concrete mixers, dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, farm machinery, and tankers.
• Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols specific to crane operations.
• Capability to read technical manuals and accurately interpret load charts.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members on-site.
