Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling failures and performance issues.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for all production tooling.
• Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to optimize tooling for manufacturing processes.
• Specify, procure, and manage inventory for new and replacement tooling components.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for tooling on the production floor.
• Evaluate and recommend new tooling technologies and materials to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design and analysis (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, stamping, injection molding) and associated tooling.
• Knowledge of tooling materials, heat treatment, and surface finishes.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tooling issues, optimize designs, and implement continuous improvements.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis).
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for tooling (e.g., 3D printed inserts, jigs, fixtures).
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Proficiency in advanced metrology techniques and software (e.g., GOM Inspect, CMM programming).
