Location: Grand Rapids, MI | In-Person
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Schedule: Full-Time

About TCBHRS
TCBHRS is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation practice in Grand Rapids, MI. We work with adults and children who have sustained traumatic brain injuries and other complex medical conditions, providing ABA, OT, PT, psychotherapy, and case management. Most of our clients are served under Michigan auto no-fault/PIP insurance, and our caseloads reflect that—these are people with real functional deficits who need consistent, skilled clinical support.
About the Role
This is a 1099 contractor position for a BCBA to carry an independent caseload within our clinic. If your background is exclusively autism and early intervention, this probably isn’t the right fit—our clients have acquired brain injuries, and the behavioral presentations that come with them are different. We’re looking for someone who has worked with medically complex populations, can write solid behavior intervention plans, and knows how to function inside a multidisciplinary team without needing a lot of hand-holding. You’ll work alongside our OTs, PTs, psychotherapists, and case managers, and you’ll be expected to show up to treatment planning meetings and contribute.
What You’ll Do
- Carry a caseload of clients with TBI and other acquired or complex conditions.
- Conduct FBAs and develop individualized behavior intervention plans.
- Oversee RBTs working within your cases—providing training, feedback, and supervision as needed.
- Collect and analyze data, adjust programming based on what the data actually shows.
- Attend treatment planning meetings and coordinate with OT, PT, psychotherapy, and case management.
- Maintain documentation that meets Michigan no-fault/PIP billing standards—progress notes, treatment plans, reassessments.
- Keep your BACB CEUs current and stay on top of ethics requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Active BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB.
- Master’s degree in ABA, psychology, special education, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of post-certification ABA experience.
- Experience with TBI, neurological conditions, or other medically complex populations—this is the most important thing.
- Familiarity with Michigan no-fault/PIP documentation and billing is a real plus, though not required.
- Someone who can work independently day-to-day but communicates well and integrates into a team.
Why TCBHRS
- Diverse caseloads featuring a wide range of TBI and acquired brain injury presentations—because these conditions are varied, they require high-level, engaging clinical problem-solving.
- A team that communicates across disciplines. Our OTs, PTs, psychotherapists, and case managers are in regular contact, and BCBAs are part of those conversations.
- Clinical and operational leadership that is accessible and invested in getting things right.
- Competitive compensation—details provided upon interview.
