Azure DevOps Engineer Location Grand Rapids, MI :

Job Summary:

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining an automated delivery process for the provisioning and deprovisioning of infrastructure resources across production, QA, and development environments. In addition, the DevOps Engineer works closely with application architects, developers, and quality assurance to automate and accelerate the testing, release, and deployment of applications both on-premise and in the cloud. The DevOps Engineer will have experience with the core suite of tools used to package, build, and deploy infrastructure resources. The individual in the role will have additional experience in configuration management tools such as Puppet (or similar) to provide an end-to-end resource provisioning solution.

Since the DevOps Engineer will play a significant role in the organizational wide transformation of IT, cross training, documentation, and mentoring team members are vital parts of the role.

Job Duties:

  • Builds, maintains, and controls production, test, and development environments
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, maintains, and continuously improves building, packaging, and deploying processes
  • Utilizes Azure DevOps to ensure end-to-end quality and repeatability of infrastructure deployments
  • Employs deployment and configuration management tools like Packer, Terraform, and Puppet
  • Drives continuous performance improvements within resource provisioning
  • Collaborates with teammates, other IT departments, and BDO's global community
  • Participates in the resolutions of inter-program and inter-project issues
  • Builds Terraform modules alongside cloud architect and cloud infrastructure engineer
  • Performs ongoing research and assessment of new approaches for the purpose of continual improvement
  • Develops enterprise infrastructure solutions to be used/reused by others
  • Influences business strategies in alignment with infrastructure services
  • Participates in process improvement 20% of the time
  • Performs training at least two (2) hours a week as it pertains to the role
  • Expands personal knowledge of the automation, services, and innovations
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or Information Technology, preferred

Experience:

  • One (1) or more year of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT automations, required
  • Two (2) or more year of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT infrastructure solutions, required
  • Experience with Azure, AWS environments, or Oracle Cloud, required
  • Intermediate-level skill in Azure DevOps processes, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • AZ-104 - Azure Administrators, preferred
  • AZ-400 - DevOps Engineer Expert, preferred
  • AZ-305 - Azur Architect, preferred

Software: Prior experience with the below software programs, preferred

  • Azure Devops
  • Packer
  • Terraform
  • Ansible
  • PowerShell
  • GIT
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Linux OS

Language:

  • N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability and willingness to reverse engineer dependencies and interactions in complex vendor-supplied applications
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across teams and all employee levels

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

Range: $115,000 to $130,000
