Advanced Quality Engineer

SUMMARY
The Advanced Quality Engineer coordinates, administers, and performs the quality function of an engineering and technical nature to ensure product quality and reliability at minimum quality costs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate, administer and perform the quality function of an engineering and technical nature to ensure product quality and reliability at minimum quality costs.
Completion and documentation of all phases of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
Prepare and submit all necessary PPAP documentation per AIAG or VDA guidelines.
Develop gauge concepts and procure gauges for specific programs. Work with component and tooling/equipment suppliers to improve products and resolve manufacturing problems.
Participate in Simultaneous Development Teams (SDT's). Participate in internal audits as required.
Support the Product Introduction Process through all phases of prototype fabrication and delivery.
Ensure that appropriate statistical methods are utilized throughout the Product and Process Development process and deployed into the Control Plan
Responsible for completion of all other Customer-specific Advance Quality requirements.
Ensure that Customer, internally identified, and supplier quality issues are resolved using the appropriate problem-solving methods (Kepner-Tregoe, 8-D, DOE, 5 Why, Red X, etc.).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Quality training in the core disciplines is required, including: IATF, ISO/TS 16949, VDA, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.
Experience being responsible for review of a customer PPAP.
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a technical area.
Minimum 5 years Quality Engineering inside Manufacturing - Automotive Preferred
