Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to work as a Special Education Teacher serving students with cognitive impairments from kindergarten through 12th grade in the Ottawa area. The role requires a passion for supporting diverse learners and a commitment to providing individualized educational experiences that promote growth and development.

Key Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Cognitively Impaired teaching certificate
• Experience teaching students with cognitive impairments within a K-12 setting
• Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Location: Zeeland, Michigan (Ottawa Area)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to the unique needs of students with cognitive impairments
• Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with related service providers, families, and educators to deliver comprehensive support
• Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth
• Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal special education regulations
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
