Axios Professional Recruitment is proud to partner with a global leader in engineered materials and thermal solutions in the search for a dedicated 1st Shift Shipping Clerk. This trial-to-hire position offers the opportunity to join an innovative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing and documenting outgoing shipments, preparing items for delivery, and ensuring all shipping operations meet customer specifications and company standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Process outgoing goods from production and inventory stock
  • Organize and prepare “in-stock” and “line-stock” materials for daily shipments
  • Ensure all stock is accurately labeled, properly skidded, and supported with complete documentation
  • Verify shipments comply with customer requirements and specifications
  • Coordinate with Customer Service for special or rush shipping requests
  • Schedule and coordinate shipments through UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and same-day delivery services
  • Address any special labeling requirements for shipments
  • Order shipping supplies (e.g., labels, Uline products, edge protectors, paper rolls) through the purchasing department
  • Prepare shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and same-day/local delivery paperwork
  • Monitor and maintain inventory records- both physical and digital
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and relocate products as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of finished goods on shelves
  • Verify the contents and labels of outgoing shipments for accuracy
  • Determine appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of procedures, routes, rates, and customer preferences
  • Contact carriers to schedule pickups and provide instructions
  • Pack, seal, label, and affix postage using appropriate tools and equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve department and company goals
  • Coordinate with setup teams to initiate shipping of prepared items
  • Troubleshoot and resolve shipping-related issues as they arise
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience operating Hi-Lo trucks and hand-trucks
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with multiple departments
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution abilities
  • Tech savvy with data entry experience, basic computer proficiency, and RF scan guns
  • Flexibility to work 10 hours a day

Physical Demands:

Manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to production areas. The position will require wearing of common protective or safety equipment such as gloves as designated by company policy. The position may require standing for extended periods of time. The position may also require the use of hands with tools and the lifting of objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
