About The Role
We’re looking for a Recruiter – Outreach Coordinator to help us find and connect with the next generation of Doctors of Veterinary Medicine. This role blends traditional recruiting with relationship building and event engagement , making it ideal for someone who thrives on networking, organization, and bringing people together.
You’ll spend time both building candidate pipelines for hourly team members (Client Ambassadors, Veterinary Assistants, Animal Care Companions) and connecting with students at universities, colleges, and tech programs. Whether you’re setting up at a campus career fair, coordinating a student lunch-and-learn, or guiding a candidate through our hiring process, you’ll be representing the welcoming, team-oriented culture that makes Veterinary United unique.
What You’ll Do
- Recruitment & Hiring Doctors of Veterinary Medicine
- Source, screen, and schedule candidates for DVM roles across our practices
- Support hiring managers with interviews, feedback, and offer logistics
- Ensure a positive candidate experience from first contact through onboarding
- Outreach & Engagement
- Coordinate and attend student events, job fairs, and community programs
- Build strong relationships with veterinary programs, tech schools, and student organizations
- Partner with our Student Ambassador program to create meaningful student experiences
- Represent Veterinary United at external events and ensure our values shine through
- Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with site leaders and the recruiting team to anticipate staffing needs
- Share ideas for creative sourcing strategies and campus initiatives
- Track progress in recruiting dashboards and reports to keep goals on pace
What We’re Looking For
- A natural connector with strong people skills and professionalism
- Experience in recruiting, HR, event coordination, or campus outreach preferred
- Experience and knowledge in hiring Doctors of Veterinary Medicine is a plus
- Organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel across Michigan for career fairs, campus visits, and events
- A passion for veterinary medicine and helping people find the right career fit
